Dear Reader
Welcome to our Post Office Campaign Resource Page.
The Post Office has now named 45 post offices across the county – including three in the new Central Devon constituency – as being earmarked for outright closure. It has also identified a further 38, mostly rural branches countywide – including 10 in Central Devon - to become outreach services or mobile post offices.
A six-week public consultation has now been opened by the Post Office into the closure plan. During this period (which will end on June 30th) you have your opportunity to make your views on local closures known. One of the best ways of doing this is to write in to the Post Office’s National Consultation Team. Our guide on this web page provides you with some excellent tips on how to do this effectively as well as the postal and email address to which you can send your letter.
Also on this web page you will find useful information on what I and my Conservative colleagues are doing to continue our fight against closures. We also provide some useful background information given by the Post Office in respect of their analysis underpinning their closure decisions.
Finally we want as many people as possible to provide us with their campaigning thoughts and advice.
The content of this webpage will grow as the campaign develops so remember to make frequent visits to the site.
Thank you for visiting our campaign resource page and please write to the National Consultation Team to support any post office that is close to where you live and is currently earmarked for closure.
Best wishes

Mel Stride
